Congratulations to Coach Al Fracassa for being named Michiganian of the Year by the Detroit News. Coach has literally thousands of former players scattered around the country who have benefited from their association with him. One player from the 1978 team recently wrote a letter to Coach with his memories from Brother Rice’s trip to Barberton, Ohio. With all the conversation on Searn’s forum on trips to Ohio this year by Inkster, Highland Park and B.H. Lahser, I thought it was timely to read about Rice’s first trip to Ohio.
